Donghae-1 Gas Project
The Offshore & Engineering
Division is in the midst of manufacturing
the deck for the
Donghae-1 Gas Field
Development Project ordered
by the Korea National Oil
Corporation (KNOC).
The division is currently
constructing the living quarter
that can accommodate up to
27 people. In addition, production
of the jacket has been
completed and work is in progress
for the sub-cellar deck, a base portion
of the deck
The project includes a 3,300-ton
floating platform, a 6,300-ton jacket,
on-land gas production and
marine observation system.
The division plans to complete
the construction by Nov. 2003 and
install the natural gas production
platform 58km southeast of Ulsan
coast.

Ieodo Deck Shipped Out
The Offshore & Engineering
Division shipped out the deck of the
Ocean Research Station.
The first Korean-built offshore scientific
observatory has a 1,452m2 deck
and a four-leg jacket. The two-floor
deck has living quarters for eight people,
a laboratory with 90 kinds of
observation equipment, a diesel generator
for electricity and a
takeoff/landing base for helicopters.
The facility will be installed 152km
southwest of Marado island to provide
real-time information on weather, fishing
conditions, ocean traffic safety,
disaster prevention, etc.
The division expects to complete
all construction work by mid-May
2003 after a month-long installation
and test-run. |
Kizomba B FPSO Project
HHI held a conference for the construction
of Kizomba B FPSO Project.
The conference attended by approximately
70 people highlighted safety
issues that would need special attention
during the execution of the project.
The Kizomba B Project, a 340,000
dwt FPSO, was awarded on an
EPC(Engineering, Procurement &
Construction) basis by ExxonMobil in
2002. This is HHI¡¯s third FPSO project,
following Girassol and Kizomba A. The
hull will be built by the Shipbuilding
Division, and the topsides will be constructed
and integrated onto the hull
by the Offshore & Engineering Division.
The Offshore & Engineering Division
will commence hull construction in July
2003 and topsides in April 2004. The
completion of hull will be May 2004,
followed by integration of topsides
onto the hull. The FPSO will be ready
for towing to the offshore site in March
2005. The final handover of the FPSO is
scheduled for December 2005. |
