Order for Forklift Trucks from Greece
HHI was awarded a 1.3-million-euro
order from the Hellenic Olympic
Committee to supply 98 forklift trucks
for 2004 Athens Olympics.
The forklifts will be used at logistics
sites near the Olympic stadiums.
The order was won after a competitive
public bidding against world-class
American and European forklift manufacturers. HHI sees this success as an
opportunity to gain more market share
in Europe.
The eight forklift models ordered,
including HDF25-5 with a side shift
attachment (which allows the folklift
to be moved left or right), received
high marks for performance, durability
and quality.
Of the 98 units, 26 were shipped
from HHI¡¯s Belgian subsidiary in
March, and the remaining units were
manufactured at its Ulsan factory and
shipped in April.
Meanwhile, the number of forklifts
produced in China has reached over
100 units a month since HHI¡¯s Beijing
factory began production in August
2002.
