Twin Ships Named
A simultaneous
naming ceremony for
two 4,800 TEU containerships
ordered by
ZIM ISRAEL and
Costamare of Greece
was held on April 20.
Besides Dr. Yoram
Sebba on behalf of
both ZIM and
Costamare contributed
$15,000 to a HHI welfare
fund as a token of
appreciation for the
successful completion
of the ships.
Mr. Yu Kwan-hong, president of
HHI, Dr. Yoram Sebba, president &
CEO of ZIM ISRAEL, and 60 other
guests attended the ceremony.
The ships were named Zim
Barcelona & Zim Piraeus
by Mrs.
Elena Garcia and Mrs. Miriam
Cikurel, respectively.
Zim Barcelona& Zim Piraeus
measure 283.2m in length, 32m in
width, and 21.8m in depth. They are
powered by a Hyundai-B&W
9K90MC-C engine of 55,890 bhp and
have a service speed of 23.9 knots.
